Welcome to Our Appraisal and Revalidation Page

What is Revalidation?

Licensed doctors are now required to demonstrate to the General Medical Council that they are up-to-date and fit to practice. Revalidation is designed to improve the overall quality of patient care and support you in your continuing professional development.

All doctors are now required to have their license with the GMC revalidated every five years based on annual appraisals undertaken over that five year period.

As a Designated Body, Direct Medics fully supports the framework for revalidation with the General Medical Council. If you carry out all or most of your UK-based clinical work through us, then Direct Medics may be your Designated Body.

A full explanation as to the background to revalidation, the relevant roles and responsibilities and our commitment to the appropriate handling of your information can be found in our Information Management (Medical Revalidation) Policy.

If Direct Medics is your designated body, please email us at revalidation@directmedics.com.
